Avoid providing “too much information.” Give each page in your site a unique purpose. Use brief marketing language and bullet points to get people interested in coming to your business. Even if you include resource pages, think of them as a sample of your work, not an encyclopedia. Make them interesting enough to draw people in, but don’t “give away the store." | Here’s some homework for you to do before we get started: - Make a list of the pages you need. Aside from your home page, list individual pages and their purpose. For example you may want a page for each product or service. You probably want a “Contact Us” page and perhaps an “About Us” page. Consider a few content pages that give helpful information to your visitors. For example, if you are a doctor you might have a page about what to do in an emergency, or if you sell electronics you might have a page on the a-b-cs of soldering.
- Type the text and collect pictures (if you have them) for each page in your list. Use simple, direct language and use bullet points when listing benefits to your visitors/customers.
- The main page should have your message on it, with the other pages supporting that message.
